bankstatementconverter.com alternative: what it publishes and what it does not

bankstatementconverter.com is a web converter run, by its own account, by one person since April 2021. It has a free tier that needs no signup, a paid tier, and an API. Its privacy page states uploaded documents "persist on our servers for 24 hours. After 24 hours they are deleted", and its terms state refunds are issued "within 14 days of the original purchase". Both were read on 14 August 2026. It does not publish a subscription price in text we could read, and it publishes no balance or reconciliation check. Tickvouch is free, converts in your browser without uploading, and shows a PASS or FAIL balance check on every file, but has no API, no paid tier and no OCR.

Every fact on this page last verified 14 August 2026, on bankstatementconverter.com's own live pages and on the review platforms named.

Two one-person products, compared by one of them. Their about page states "I run this company on my own". Tickvouch was also built by one person. That makes this the least lopsided comparison on this site and also the one where our bias is hardest to see, so every claim below carries the page it came from and the date we read it.

The sentence worth reading before you upload anything

"Documents uploaded to Bank Statement Converter persist on our servers for 24 hours. After 24 hours they are deleted."

bankstatementconverter.com/privacy โ€” read 14 August 2026

The same sentence appears in the terms, read the same day, alongside "We do not forward user uploaded documents to any third parties."

Two things about that sentence. First, it names a number and a deletion event, and the number is short. Of the eleven converters we read on 14 August 2026, this one and Bankstatemently were the only two publishing a 24-hour deletion window. DocuClipper also publishes retention periods, but they are longer and depend on your plan: 30 days on Starter and Professional, 2 years on Business, 5 years on Enterprise. MoneyThumb's privacy policy does not address statement files at all. LedgerBox describes a "short recovery window" with no number attached.

Second, it is a promise about what happens after upload. Tickvouch makes a different kind of claim: the file is never uploaded, so there is nothing to delete. You can test ours by loading the converter, turning off your internet, and converting anyway. You cannot test theirs from outside, because a retention rule is a policy, not a mechanism. Neither shape is automatically better. A policy you can read beats a mechanism you were never told about, and a mechanism you can test beats a policy you have to trust. Choose which one you want to rely on.

Refunds, published, and better than most of this field

"We issue refunds for Contracts within 14 days of the original purchase of the Contract."

bankstatementconverter.com/terms โ€” read 14 August 2026

Set that beside what the larger vendors published the same day. DocuClipper: "Outside of the free trial period, we do not offer refunds for any reason." Docparser: "pre-paid fees will not be refunded." LedgerBox: payments "are not refunded except where the law requires it or we agree otherwise in writing."

On refund terms alone, bankstatementconverter.com is more generous than the three larger vendors in our dataset. We are printing that plainly. The alternative would be to leave a competitor's advantage out of a page we wrote about them, which would make this page an advert.

The terms also set out how the trial converts, which is standard and worth reading before you start it:

"On the last day of Free Trial period, unless you cancelled your Subscription, you will be automatically charged the applicable Subscription fees for the type of Subscription you have selected."

bankstatementconverter.com/terms โ€” read 14 August 2026

Cancellation is published as available "through your online account management page or by contacting [email protected]", read the same day.

Tickvouch has no refund policy, no trial, and no cancellation route, because it has no price and no account. There is no card field on the site.

Where bankstatementconverter.com beats Tickvouch

  • It has an API. Its API documentation covers uploading, converting and managing statements, read 14 August 2026. Tickvouch has no API and no automation path of any kind.
  • It has a paid tier for volume. Its homepage tier reads "Subscribe to convert more documents". Tickvouch converts one file at a time and there is no way to buy more of it.
  • Published refund terms. Fourteen days, quoted above. We have none to publish, which is only an advantage in the sense that nothing can be charged.
  • Four years of operating history. Its about page states the service "was created in April 2021". Tickvouch launched in August 2026 and has no customers.
  • Accounts and history. Registration is free and gives a higher daily allowance. Tickvouch has no accounts, which also means no saved history.
  • It handles files ours refuses. Tickvouch reads text-layer PDFs only, and needs amounts printed with two decimal places. Any statement outside that shape fails here and may well convert there.

What we could not read on their site

  • The subscription price. The path /pricing returns HTTP 404. The homepage's third tier says only "Subscribe to convert more documents". We found no figure in any text we could read on 14 August 2026, so no price for this vendor appears anywhere on this site.
  • The free-tier allowances. The homepage prints "page every 24 hours" for anonymous use and "pages every 24 hours" for registered use, with the numerals inserted by JavaScript that our reader does not run. We know the shape of the limit and not its size.
  • Where the processing runs. The privacy page establishes that files are uploaded and deleted after 24 hours. It does not state where the conversion itself happens.
  • Any balance check. No page we read publishes a reconciliation or balance verification feature. The accuracy wording on the homepage is a support promise rather than a check: "We're continually improving our algorithms. If a file doesn't convert to your expectations, email us and we'll fix it", read 14 August 2026.
  • Quotas or rate limits in the API documentation. None printed on the page we read.

Reviews, and why we are not using them

Trustpilot showed 2.8 out of 5 from 3 reviews on 14 August 2026, distributed 33% five-star and 67% one-star, on an unclaimed profile with 2 reviews in the last twelve months. Capterra listed the product with no rating and "Based on 0 user reviews", read the same day. Every G2 page we tried returned HTTP 403 behind a bot challenge.

Three reviews is not evidence. It is two people and one other person. We are printing the number because we print every number we read, and we are refusing to draw a conclusion from it, in either direction. A competitor with three reviews is a competitor whose customers we cannot hear from.

For scale, in our dataset Docparser carries 127 Capterra reviews, MoneyThumb 90 on Trustpilot and DocuClipper 32 on Trustpilot and 16 on Capterra. Tickvouch has none anywhere, because it has no customers.

Who should pick which

Use bankstatementconverter.com if you need an API; you convert enough volume to want a subscription; your statement does not parse here; you want published refund terms before you buy; or you are comfortable uploading a statement to a server that publishes a 24-hour deletion rule.

Use Tickvouch if you do not want the file to leave your machine at all; you want the opening-to-closing balance arithmetic shown on screen as PASS or FAIL before you download; your statements are text-layer PDFs from online banking with amounts printed to two decimals; and CSV or Excel is the output you need.

Both products are free to try without paying anything. Ours has no paid tier to graduate to. That is the shape of the trade, and it is worth knowing before you build a workflow on either one.

Could not read on 14 August 2026: bankstatementconverter.com/pricing returned HTTP 404, so no price is recorded for this vendor. The free-tier numerals on the homepage are inserted client-side and were not present in the text we read. Every g2.com product page returned HTTP 403 behind a bot challenge; no challenge was solved or worked around.
