MoneyThumb alternative: when a QBO file is the whole job
MoneyThumb converts statements into .qbo, .qfx and .qif files for QuickBooks and Quicken bank feeds. On 14 August 2026 its Online for QuickBooks plans ran $24.95 a month for 5 conversions up to $99.95 a month for 60, and it meters whole statement conversions rather than pages, with unused conversions rolling forward. Tickvouch writes CSV and Excel and nothing else. It cannot produce a QBO, QFX or QIF file, so if your work ends by importing into a bank feed, MoneyThumb does the job and Tickvouch does not. Tickvouch is free, runs in the browser and shows a balance check on every file, which is a different job.
Every fact on this page last verified 14 August 2026, on MoneyThumb's own live pages and on Trustpilot. Prices change without notice.
We compete with MoneyThumb, so check us. Everything below is either a sentence MoneyThumb published on its own site, with the page and the date, or a plain statement that a page did not carry something. We describe what is published. We do not characterise the company.
The difference that decides it: file format
Most comparisons in this category argue about accuracy. Between these two products the deciding question is simpler and it is about the output file.
MoneyThumb's product page states it converts "PDF, OFX, CSV, QFX or QIF" into .qbo for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, read 14 August 2026. A .qbo file goes into a bank feed, where QuickBooks matches transactions against what it already holds. That is a workflow a CSV cannot enter.
Tickvouch produces CSV and Excel. That is useful if you are analysing, filing, or importing into a spreadsheet, and it is useless if what you actually need is a bank feed import. We have no plan we can date for adding QBO, so we are not going to imply one.
If the sentence "I need to import this into QuickBooks" describes your task, stop reading here and go to MoneyThumb or DocuClipper.
What MoneyThumb charged on 14 August 2026
MoneyThumb Online for QuickBooks, as printed on its own pages on 14 August 2026:
| Plan | Monthly, USD | Conversions | Annual, USD | Conversions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | $24.95 | 5 per month | $199.95 | 60 per year |
| Standard | $49.95 | 20 per month | $399.95 | 240 per year |
| Pro | $99.95 | 60 per month | $799.95 | 800 per year |
Read on moneythumb.com/convert-to-quickbooks/ and moneythumb.com/shop/2qbo-convert-pro-plus/ on 14 August 2026. The pages describe annual billing as a 33% saving, and list volume discounts of 20% at 2 licences up to 35% at 50.
The store index prints the same entry point as "As low as $24.95 for 5 statement conversions per month", and prices two lender products by the statement: "As low as $0.50 per statement conversion" for PDF Insights, and "As low as $0.65 per statement conversion" for PDF Insights with Thumbprint. Read on moneythumb.com/shop/ on 14 August 2026.
A conversion is not a page, and this matters
"Conversions are valid for the life of the subscription. Unused conversions roll over when your subscription renews. Each monthly statement processed is considered a conversion, but reconverting the same file does not count as another conversion."
moneythumb.com/shop/2qbo-convert-pro-plus/ โ read 14 August 2026
Three things follow from that sentence, and they are the reason to read it rather than a price table. A forty-page statement costs the same as a two-page one. Unused conversions roll forward, where DocuClipper's pricing page states pages "do not carry forward to the next month", read the same day. And a failed or wrong conversion can be rerun without paying again.
That is a buyer-friendly meter for anyone whose statements are long. Tickvouch has no meter at all, because it is free, so this comparison only matters between MoneyThumb and the page-metered vendors.
MoneyThumb publishes a balance check too
"Auto-balance, reconciliation and assisted payee cleanup"
moneythumb.com/convert-to-quickbooks/ โ read 14 August 2026
We are printing that because the alternative would be to imply the balance check is ours alone, and it is not. MoneyThumb publishes one. So do DocuClipper, LedgerBox and Bankstatemently.
What we could not establish from any MoneyThumb page read on 14 August 2026 is what the auto-balance actually tests, what it does when the figures disagree, or whether the result is shown to the user before the file is written. Those are the questions that decide whether a check helps you. We are not going to guess at the answers.
What Tickvouch does is narrow and visible: opening balance plus every transaction must equal the closing balance, printed as PASS or FAIL with the arithmetic on screen, before you download, on every conversion. A FAIL is shown and the download is still offered, flagged. You can add the column up by hand and check the tool.
Where MoneyThumb beats Tickvouch
- The output formats. .qbo, .qfx and .qif. Tickvouch cannot write any of them, today or on any date we can name.
- Scanned statements. MoneyThumb sells a PDF+ add-on for extracting from scanned PDFs. Tickvouch refuses a scan outright, because an in-browser parser has no text layer to read.
- Desktop software you install. The site lists licence tiers for 2qfx Convert Pro+: Pro+ Lifetime with one year of PDF+, Pro Lifetime without PDF+, and an Express 50-day licence, all Windows, read 14 August 2026. A perpetual desktop licence is something we do not offer in any form.
- Rollover. Unused conversions carry forward. Page-metered competitors expire them monthly.
- Multi-user licensing. Published volume discounts from 2 to 100+ licences. Tickvouch has no licensing concept at all.
- Answering people. Its Trustpilot profile stated it "replied to 100% of negative reviews", read 14 August 2026. We are one person with an email address and no published response record.
- Time in the market. Its Trustpilot profile has been claimed since December 2017. Tickvouch has no customers and no history.
What MoneyThumb does not publish, recorded as absence
These are gaps in what we could read, not accusations. A vendor is free to publish nothing; a buyer is entitled to notice.
- Desktop licence prices. No MoneyThumb page we read on 14 August 2026 printed a figure for 2qbo Convert Pro, 2qbo Convert Pro+ or 2qfx Convert Pro+. Third-party blogs print numbers for these. Those are not primary sources and no figure from them appears here.
- The PDF+ add-on price. Not printed on any page we read.
- Refund, trial or money-back terms. Not printed on any page we read. moneythumb.com/pricing/ returns HTTP 404. Compare bankstatementconverter.com, which publishes "We issue refunds for Contracts within 14 days of the original purchase of the Contract", and DocuClipper, which publishes that it offers none outside the trial. Both of those are terms you can read before buying.
- Where statement files are processed, and for how long they are kept. The privacy policy sets out a general principle, quoted below, and does not address uploaded statement files specifically.
"We will retain your personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it"
moneythumb.com/privacy-policy/ โ read 14 August 2026
For contrast, bankstatementconverter.com's privacy page states uploads "persist on our servers for 24 hours. After 24 hours they are deleted", and DocuClipper's security page prints retention periods per plan. Tickvouch keeps nothing because it receives nothing: load the converter, disconnect your internet, and it still works.
Reviews, and how to read them
Trustpilot showed 3.1 out of 5 from 90 reviews on 14 August 2026, distributed 58% five-star, 2% four-star, 4% three-star, 5% two-star and 31% one-star. Ten of those reviews arrived in the last twelve months. That is the largest Trustpilot sample of any vendor in our dataset, and the split shape is worth noticing: this is not a middling product, it is a product people either rate top or bottom.
One caveat we will not leave out. Trustpilot labelled MoneyThumb as actively inviting customers to review, and did not carry that label on the other profiles we read the same day. Invited samples and walk-in samples are not gathered the same way, so the scores are not like for like across vendors.
MoneyThumb has no Capterra, GetApp or Software Advice listing. A Capterra site search returned 20 products on 14 August 2026 and none of them was MoneyThumb. That is an absence of a listing, not a low score. Every G2 page we tried returned HTTP 403 behind a bot challenge, so no G2 figure appears anywhere on this page.
Tickvouch has no rating on any platform, because it has no customers.
Who should pick which
Buy MoneyThumb if you need a .qbo, .qfx or .qif file; you work in QuickBooks or Quicken; your statements are long, so per-statement pricing suits you better than per-page; you want installed desktop software; or you have scanned statements and want the PDF+ add-on.
Use Tickvouch if you want CSV or Excel out; your statements are text-layer PDFs from online banking; you want the file to stay on your machine; and you want the opening-to-closing balance arithmetic shown to you rather than asserted.
If you need both, there is nothing stopping you converting a file here to check the arithmetic and buying MoneyThumb for the QuickBooks import. We would rather say that than pretend a CSV is a bank feed file.
